Elevating Wellness at Hold Up Roll Up’s December Yoga Pop-Up

On Friday, December 19, Hold Up Roll Up hosted its second Yoga Pop-Up class held inside the dispensary from 8:00–9:00 a.m. We partnered with The Hot Yoga Spot of Albany, NY, and instructor Kendra, who led the class with poise and grace. She thoughtfully guided participants through each movement, using intentional language to ground both body and mind. Throughout the session, Kendra remained highly attentive, moving through the room to assist with stretches and reminding participants to thank their bodies for all they do.

The event was sponsored by Papa & Barkley, based in California, and Eaton Botanicals of Eaton, NY. Both brands utilize THC and minor cannabinoids such as CBD, CBC, and CBG to promote relaxation and overall wellness. Papa & Barkley specializes in topicals and balms applied directly to targeted areas, while Eaton Botanicals offers a selection of edible and pre-rolled products. Their effect-based gummies also feature a blend of adaptogenic mushrooms, supplements, and herbs.

At the conclusion of the event, participants received a take-home gift featuring products from both brands, all of which are available for purchase at Hold Up Roll Up!

Catering was provided by Bare Blend, featuring their Ginger Zing and Ocean Breeze fresh-pressed juices, alongside their OG Mini Waffles. Following the class, participants were invited to enjoy a massage in our VIP room from the incredible Cordelia Jones of Albany, NY, using Papa & Barkley balms.

Collectively, the experience created a soothing, mind-freeing environment that allowed participants to fully de-stress, connect, and recover. Thank you to our partners, participants, and staff who came together to make this event a success.

Understanding Cannabinoids and the Power of Minor Cannabinoids

Understanding Cannabinoids and the Power of Minor Cannabinoids

At Hold Up Roll Up, we believe that knowledge is empowerment, especially when it comes to the products we offer. In our previous blog post, we introduced the concept of cannabinoids, the chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant that interact with our body’s endocannabinoid system to produce various effects.

Today, we’re diving deeper into the world of cannabinoids, specifically focusing on minor cannabinoids, which are less talked about but hold significant potential benefits.

What Are Cannabinoids?

To recap briefly, cannabinoids are naturally occurring compounds found in the cannabis plant. The two most well-known cannabinoids are THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol). THC is responsible for the psychoactive effects commonly associated with cannabis, while CBD is known for its potential therapeutic benefits without the high.

Minor Cannabinoids: The Unsung Heroes

While THC and CBD often take the spotlight, the cannabis plant contains over 100 other cannabinoids, known as minor cannabinoids. These compounds occur in smaller concentrations, but they play a crucial role in the overall effects of cannabis. Each cannabinoid interacts with our body’s endocannabinoid system in unique ways, contributing to the Entourage Effect, where the combined action of all cannabinoids produces a more potent effect than any single cannabinoid could on its own.

Here are a few minor cannabinoids worth knowing about:

  1. CBG (Cannabigerol)
  • What It Is: CBG is often referred to as the “mother of all cannabinoids” because it is the precursor to other cannabinoids like THC and CBD. It’s typically present in low concentrations in most cannabis strains.
  1. CBC (Cannabichromene)
  • What It Is: CBC is another non-psychoactive cannabinoid, meaning it doesn’t produce a high. It’s one of the most abundant cannabinoids in cannabis after THC, CBD, and CBG.
  • Potential Benefits: CBC has shown promise in supporting skin health, reducing inflammation, and possibly even stimulating brain growth (neurogenesis). It also works well in conjunction with other cannabinoids to enhance their effects.
  • Explore these Products: Green Hornet Ache Away Gummies, Tangelo Sugar Coated Pearls, and Ayrloom Bliss Pen
  1. CBN (Cannabinol)
  • What It Is: CBN is a product of THC degradation. When THC is exposed to heat or oxygen, it converts to CBN, which is mildly psychoactive but much less so than THC.
  • Potential Benefits: CBN is often associated with its sedative properties, making it popular for those seeking support for sleep. It may also have potential as an anti-inflammatory and pain reliever.
  • Explore these Products: Cannabals Blueberry Dreams, Jumbodose DOZE, and Eaton Botanicals Nightly Nightcap
  1. THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin)
  • What It Is: THCV is similar to THC in its structure but has some distinct differences in its effects. It is found in lower concentrations in most cannabis strains.
  • Potential Benefits: THCV is known for its potential to suppress appetite, making it of interest to those looking to manage their weight. It’s also being studied for its potential benefits in managing diabetes and promoting bone growth.
  • Explore these Products: Ayrloom “Up” Juicy Secret, Off Hours Awaken Sour Orange Punch, and Ayrloom Focus Pen
  1. CBDV (Cannabidivarin)
  • What It Is: CBDV is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid like CBD. It’s found in higher concentrations in certain indica strains and landrace cannabis strains from Asia and Africa.
  • Potential Benefits: CBDV is being researched for its potential to reduce nausea, seizures, and inflammation. It may also support brain health and function.

Why Minor Cannabinoids Matter

Minor cannabinoids might be present in smaller amounts, but their impact can be significant. They work synergistically with major cannabinoids like THC and CBD, enhancing their effects and offering unique benefits that could be particularly valuable for specific health and wellness goals. Whether you’re seeking relief from chronic pain, looking to improve your sleep, or interested in supporting overall wellness, minor cannabinoids might hold the key.
